At Ladders & Lanterns, we believe transformation happens best within a community. Our work will extend beyond the walls of the orphanage we plan to build, which will serve families, youth, and neighbors through shared learning, resources, and support.
By opening our academy and programs to the surrounding community, we create a place where education, skill-building, and hope are accessible to all. Through partnerships, mentorship, and local engagement, we aim to strengthen communities from the inside out—building networks of care that foster stability, dignity, and opportunity for generations to come.
Youth
Education
Education is the cornerstone of empowerment. Ladders & Lanterns is committed to providing high-quality, holistic education through our on-site learning and technical academy. From foundational academics to vocational and technical training, our programs are designed to prepare youth for independence, employment, and lifelong learning. By equipping young people with practical skills and critical thinking abilities, we ensure they are not only educated but also prepared to thrive in an ever-changing world and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Every child deserves to know their worth and potential. Through safe housing, consistent care, leadership development, and life-skills training, Ladders & Lanterns nurtures confidence from the inside out. We create environments where youth feel seen, supported, and encouraged to discover their strengths. As they grow in knowledge and skill, they also grow in self-belief—learning to trust their voice, lead with integrity, and step boldly into the future with purpose.

Current Projects
Ladders & Lanterns is committed to building an orphanage that serves as a place of safety, stability, and belonging for vulnerable children. More than shelter, the orphanage will provide a supportive home environment where youth are cared for physically, emotionally, and socially. Through consistent care, mentorship, and structure, children are given the foundation they need to heal, grow, and envision a hopeful future. This initiative ensures that no child is left without protection, guidance, or the opportunity to thrive.
Building a safe & nurturing orphanage
At the heart of Ladders & Lanterns’ vision is an on-site academy designed to equip youth with technical skills, education, and a strong sense of community. The academy will offer hands-on training and learning opportunities that prepare students for employment, independence, and leadership, while fostering collaboration and confidence. Beyond serving the youth in our care, Ladders & Lanterns is dedicated to uplifting surrounding communities through food and clothing distribution and access to essential resources. By responding to both immediate needs and long-term development, the organization works to strengthen individuals, families, and communities across Africa.
